The project was completed in 2015 with dr. Brigita Kreiviniene.
According to the head of the Dolphin Therapy Center Dr. Brigita Kreivinienė, “this is especially important for people with mental and behavioral disorders. This lab is expanding additional non-pharmaceutical capabilities to help clients.”
The laboratory was installed based on ideas from an international project “Successful Psychological and Sensory Rehabilitation of Children and Adults with Mental and Behavioral Disorders” (SUPER, project No. LLI-336) implemented by four institutions: Lithuanian Sea Museum, Palanga Personal Health Care Center, Liepaja Hospital "Priejūras" (Latvia) and social care center "Kurzeme" (Latvia). The project aims to help with solving the mental health problems of Lithuanian and Latvian patients, to improve the availability and efficiency of psychosocial and sensory integration into rehabilitation services. The laboratory also works according to the sensory integration methodology developed by Lithuanian and Latvian researchers, which is based on foreign research and best practices. This methodology will soon be available for public use in Lithuania and Latvia, therefore specialists interested in sensory disorders will be able to apply this methodology for their own needs.
